Adventure MVMT is the result of over a decade of fitness experience and a lifetime of adventuring.
To find success in anything, one must have a passion for it. Adventure MVMT combines 3 of my highest passions: fitness, outdoor adventure and sharing both with others. My goal in creating this program is two fold:
Serve outdoor athletes through adventure sport specific movement training.
Make outdoor adventure more accessible to the general public through training that physically prepares and builds confidence in outdoor situations.
Adventure MVMT distilled to one word is Capability, aka the skill to come out on top of any situation.
So what does a capable person look like?
Mobile: They are strong and flexible. This is the Yin & the Yang of any Capable body.
Durable: They can efficiently prevent, resist and recover from any injury.
Adaptable: The outdoors is unpredictable. So they are prepared for it, with Adventure Specific MVMT pattern training
If Capability is the tree trunk, these are the roots. Every jump, push, crawl, hold, climb, pull, etc is working toward strong healthy roots that interweave into and nourish a trunk that stands the test of time.
So you may have noticed that I am 201 words into the introduction of a fitness concept and have yet to mention "build muscle" "loose fat" "six pack abs" or any number of other #hashtagable buzzwords and if that is what your looking for in a fitness program...I've probably already lost you. No hurt feelings here, hope enjoy your protein shakes, and sciatica.
Now for the rest of ya'll, heres where it gets fun! Muscle growth and fat loss are great byproducts of training, but really crappy central goals. Kinda like wanting to own a Land Rover, but never planning on leaving the suburbs. Good goals result in more effective training, and effective training makes you stronger, leaner and healthier regardless of your central goals. Now what are good goals, whats going to keep you training on a the daily, no excuses?
For myself, the answer was simple, I wanted to make the world my playground! I wanted the capability to climb whatever big ass rock I found in the woods, miss the last move and eat it hard, but still be able to get up for a second attempt all while avoiding a bear thats developed a taste for the bourbon barrel aged imperial stout in stashed my backpack.
If this sounds anywhere close to your personal goals or if you are just tired of douchey chest thumping gym culture but also want to survive the zombie apocalypse, I created Adventure MVMT for you.
Stay tuned for more homies!
